You Don’t Start Learning to Fly in the Air

Before soloing, students need to understand:

  • weather

  • aerodynamics

  • navigation

  • airspace

  • decision-making

Why Students Get Stuck

Why So Many Students Feel Overwhelmed Early

  • Radio calls feel too fast

  • Airspace feels confusing

  • Weather feels unpredictable

  • It’s hard to connect book knowledge to real flying

Most students do not struggle because aviation is impossible. They struggle because no one has broken it down clearly yet.

That is exactly what ground school is built to fix.

FAQs

  • Do I need any flight experience first?

    • No experience is required. Ground school is designed for complete beginners and is often the best first step before starting flight lessons.

  • Can I take ground school before starting flight lessons?

    • Yes — and we recommend it. Students who complete ground school first typically progress faster, feel more confident, and save money once they begin flying. However, it is not required; you can start ground school after or during your flight training. You must pass your FAA written exam before your final checkride (the practical test for your Private Pilot Certificate).

  • What if I miss a class?

    • We understand things come up. You’ll still have access to the weekly materials, and you can make up missed content in a future ground school session if needed. (Keep in mind: attendance requirements apply if you want to qualify for the tuition-back challenge.)

  • Is this only for career pilots?

    • Not at all. Ground school is for anyone interested in flying — whether your goal is a career in aviation or flying for fun and personal travel.

  • What is included in the Ground Kit?

    • The Ground Kit includes all the materials you’ll use during training, including:

      • FAA textbooks and study guides

      • Navigation tools (like plotter and E6B)

      • Test prep materials

      • Resources you’ll continue using during flight training

  • How does the tuition-back challenge work?

    • If you fully commit to the program, we reward you. To qualify, you must:

      • Attend required ground school sessions

      • Complete assigned homework

      • Score 90%+ on two practice exams

      • Take the FAA written within 15 days of course completion

      • Score 90%+ on your first attempt

    • If you meet all of these, 100% of your ground school tuition is credited back to your flight training account. (Credit is non-cash, non-transferable, and must be used within 12 months.)

  • What happens after ground school ends?

    • You’ll be fully prepared to:

      • Take and pass your FAA written exam

      • Begin or continue flight training with confidence

      • Move efficiently toward your Private Pilot Certificate

    • Most students transition directly into flight training and continue building hours with us.
