FlyNorth Aviation Multi-Engine Rating Program

Add a multi-engine rating to your certificate in just one week. FlyNorth's program is built for pilots who want focused, efficient training without dragging the process out over months.

What the week looks like

The course kicks off with a full weekend of ground instruction — 8 hours each on Saturday and Sunday, for 16 hours total. This covers the systems, aerodynamics, and procedures unique to flying a twin: engine-out emergencies, Vmc, critical engine theory, and the systems knowledge you'll need to think clearly under pressure in the airplane.

From there, you move straight into the airplane. Monday through Friday, you'll fly 8 to 10 hours of dedicated multi-engine flight time, working one-on-one with a CFI to apply everything from ground school in real conditions — normal operations, engine-out procedures, and checkride-level maneuvers.

By the end of the week, you'll have the flight time and ground instruction needed to test for your rating.

What's included

  • 16 hours of ground instruction (weekend, 8 hrs/day)

  • 10 hours of multi-engine flight training (weekdays)

  • One-on-one CFI instruction throughout

What's not included

  • Checkride costs and examiner fees (these can be added to your package on request)

Estimated investment: $4,584 for ground and flight instruction (checkride additional)
